Nancimarie Figueroa, Practice Manager

  • What you like best about working at C.A.H.: The team and the opportunities. The team is very welcoming and very family like.
  • Special area of interest at CAH:  Keeping a positive and fun atmosphere in the workplace!
  • Favorite breed or type of animal: I really do love all animals!!! ;)  
    Tell us about your pets: "Cleomarie", Feline, Was born at Sea World and was my very first bottle feed pet.  "Oreo Enrique",feline, best cat in the world and he loves to cuddle.  He often goes to children's shelters to interact.
  • Hobbies other interests outside of work: I love to swim, READ, and spending time with my family.

  • Hobbies, other interests outside of work:  hiking, camping, gardening, kayaking, snow skiing, traveling

Martha Karcher, DVM

  • Where you went to school: Ohio State University
  • Year started at C.A.H.: 2002, then moved to the South clinic, rejoined Clermont 2013
  • What you like best about working at C.A.H.: My coworkers are simply wonderful. Everyone is so completely devoted to their work.  CAH is a very well structured & dynamic practice.  Every day is unique.
  • Special area of interest: compassionate animal care
  • Favorite breed or type of animal: Shi Tzu  
  • Tell us about your pets: "George", (6/06) Ragdoll Mix rescued as a kitten from a storm drain.  "Barney", (2/10) Terrier Mix rescued as a one year old stray.  "Joe", (6/10) Maine Coon Mix rescued as a stray from Sanford Zoo.  "Sam", (6/11) Tuxedo cat, rescue "drop off" kitten from CAH South. "Macy", (7/10) Poodle/Shih Tzu Mix adopted as puppy.
  • Hobbies other interests outside of work: needlework, cross stitch, gourd crafting, being a Grandmother :)


Laura Bork, DVM

  • What you like best about working at C.A.H.: The family environment apparent amongst both clients and co-workers. 
  • Special area of interest: Internal medicine, clinical pathology 
  • Favorite breed or type of animal: yorkie, maltese, any & all small breed dogs
  • Your pets:  "Maggie" rescued geriatric Golden with injuries that needed a home (pictured)
  • Hobbies other interests outside of work: amusement park enthusiast, 90's pop music fan, football fan

  • Special area of interest: preventative medicine
  • Favorite breed or type of animal: Goats!
  • Tell us about your pets: "Killian", (8/2012) chihuahua mix (pictured) He was a patient of mine while still in veterinary school. I took him home to foster after he was hit by a car and am a proud "foster failure".  "Smitty"  (2017) German Shorthaired Pointer. "Charlie", (1/2003) DSH cat, "Dexter" (10/2003) DSH cat, and "Kale" (5/2013).
  • Hobbies other interests outside of work: Rowing with the Lake County Rowing Association, Gardening, and a wanna-be carpenter

  • Special area of interest at CAH:  The Laboratory
  • Tell us about your pets: "Charlie"  (10/2016) n/m border collie mix rescue with 3 legs, adopted from South Lake Animal League. "Abby", (1999)  Blue Classic Tabby adopted from Northeast Animal Shelter; "Josie", (2001)  Brown Mackerel Tabby adopted from Serenity Pet ResQ;  "Lilly" pictured (3/07) red mackerel tabby adopted from client that rescued her from a dog attack; "Alice" (2009) was found in the animal hospital parking lot with her tail missing and her bottom jaw damaged; "Calvin" (2011) adopted from a client who saved his pregnant mom.
  • Hobbies other interests outside of work: Spending time with my daughter and granddaughter, going to Disney World.

  • Favorite breed or type of animal: I love cats! The every day tabby is my favorite. I love Dobermans also!
  • Tell us about your pets:  "Asia"  (2000) brown classic tabby DSH with short kinked tail rescued stray. She is FIV positive but doing well. "Aaliyah"  (2001) (pictured) brought to CAH as a newborn unable to nurse due to brain trauma at birth. I bottle fed her and she eventually lost her head tilt and is pretty close to being a normal cat!  "Jazmin'", (2013) my oldest son's silver tabby cat. "Thor", (2008) Doberman rescued from Orange County Animal Control.  "Nikki" (2009) a mixed breed dog my husband rescued from Afghanistan.
  • Hobbies other interests outside of work: Enjoying time with my two sons, husband, friends & family.  Motorcycles (dirt and street) and watching MotoGP, quiet beaches, orchid gardening, reading.

  • Tell us about  your pets: "Ralph" (March 1996) African Grey bird that talks up a storm and is a very special guy!  "Smudge" (2003) very sweet female spayed shelter rescued mix-breed dog, "Kaia" (2003) goofy/sweet female spayed rescued golden retriever mix, "Smokey" (1997) my senior guy - neutered male black DSH cat, and a couple more rescued cats.
